Jurassic Dodge is an arcade game in development by Shrek 2 team (Alessandro Colantonio, Giuseppe Falso, Riccardo Fasano) at the Apple Developer Academy of Unina Federico II (Naples, Italy).

Introduction - Welcome to the Jurassic Dodge

Have you ever imagined how it could have been the extinction of dinosaurs? What were the last thoughts of the last dinosaur ever lived on planet Earth when meteors fell from the sky? Unfortunately there are questions that Paleontology will never answer...

But video games could.

As game developers, we came to our answer very fast. We summarized our philosophical discussions about dinosaurs’ meaning of life and their last will in just one word: RUN.

This was the last thought of the dinosaurs for sure.

Backstory - It’s never too late... but sometimes it is

65,95 million years ago, a tragic event signed the passage from the Cretaceous to the Palogenic era. A giant asteroid fell from the space, spreading its debris all over the atmosphere of the planet Earth. A mass extinction, lead by meteors falling down for months and years, exterminated dinosaurs forever.

We bet you know this story already.

But through Jurassic Dodge **we want to tell the story of just one creature, the very last dinosaur ever breathing on the surface of our beloved planet: Roger.

Roger is a Velociraptor Fugiensis, a velociraptor sub-genre mostly known as Velocidodger or Dodgesaurus. This species was a living fossil since it appeared for the first time during the Jurassic era, many millions of years before the Cretaceous. (Sorry, we need to justify the “Jurassic” word in our title)

Roger the Dodger had a quite simple life. He just enjoyed running and eating mangos, his favorite fruit despite a slight allergy that makes him turn red. Anyway, in his short life, Roger had just one wish: to declare his love to Toothy the Beauty, a very cute female Dodgesaurus of which we have no assets yet Paleontologist have found no trace yet.
